It is wonderful to have our local talent on show and being recognised in the community. Well Done everyone.

Art Shoes By Pendragon Boot Company

Pendragon Boot Company offers audiences an exhibition of shoe art spanning work from the past 19 years.

'Art Shoes' explores themes as diverse as nature, absurdity and haute couture. Pendragon takes the humble shoe and elevates it to a new level as an artform in its own right.

Jackie Orme Ward and Adrian Lockwood have 16 years of shoemaking experience, including made-to-measure, patternmaking and grading, leather and heel design and all aspects of shoe construction.

They are regularly engaged to provide footwear for artists appearing in Opera Queensland and Queensland Theatre Company productions, as well as for interstate production companies, such as Simon Gallaher’s EssGee Entertainment and Company B among others. Their work has also appeared in the Warner Bros films 'Peter Pan' and 'Scooby Doo'.

BAVA Christmas party

Here we all are at last week's Christmas party!

It was a great night in which we exchanged 'secret santa' gifts, viewed a slideshow of photos taken at various workshops throughout 2007, talked about what workshops we each would love to do in 2008, had a beautiful meal, consumed a bit of 'Christmas cheer' & generally enjoyed each others company.

A great bunch of ladies :) Best wishes to you all for a happy & safe Christmas!

Biloela Area Visual Artists & Friends are invited to share their works in a Combined Community Exhibition with Biloela Arts Council Inc & Banana Shire Council at the Biloela Library Art Space on 12th December, 2007. This is a community invitation to Biloela Potters, Patchworkers & Photographers.

"ArtShoes" Exhibition on Request from Queensland Arts Council should arrive on the Tuesday, 11th December & we will start to hang it on the following day, Wednesday, 12th December with the other pieces.

If any members are available to help hang on the Wednesday, 12th December, it would be appreciated

If you would like your artwork for sale, please put the information on the back of the artwork and it will be put into the exhibition program. "Experimenting In Ceramics" Workshop

With Katherine Bodrog. (Katherine's Artworks in Photo)Since leaving Monto, Katherine has gained a vast knowledge on all aspects of her Artistic World!
Her love for ART has guided her in being bold enough to try different methods with materials & themes in her work.
Katherine loves what she does and very keen to share her experiences for Art with you.


I enjoyed the weekend workshop, 27th & 28th October, 2007 with the Monto Pottery Ladies and very keen to take on the the 3 different concepts with Ceramics, Katherine had to share with us at the workshop. I have some photo's to share, will download them soon.

Ringmaking for Beginners.

12 Students enjoyed 2 days of Silversmithing in Biloela with Flying Arts tutor Maurie Maunsell, 20th & 21st October, 2007. Maurie introduced the students to ringmaking and each student produced their very own piece of Jewellery.
This workshop gave students a basic introduction to ring making. Students were introduced to the use of tools and basic techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, polishing, piercing and also the use of finding and forming metal. Workplace health and safety topics will emphasized. The course began at a basic level and progressed to more advanced forms, such as split shank rings and overlaid rings. These methods of fabrication are also relevant to the making of pendants, earrings and bracelets. Each student completed at least two pieces of sterling sliver jewellery. Well Done Everyone:)
