DRAWN TO INDIA, Rajasthan – Artist Study Trip

Dates: 26 November - 9 December 2009

In association with… Lakshmi Tours

Update Newsletter:

Namaste (hello in hindi) dear friends and an update on my next Drawn to India, Rajasthan Artist Study Trip. Due to overwhelming interest and bookings for my March Tour next year, I have decided to offer an earlier tour scheduled for November this year. Some people just couldn't wait! The March tour is now full and bookings for the November 2010 are already underway, through word of mouth.

The 14 day, 26 Novemeber - 9 December 2009 tour takes in the majestic forts, fairytale palaces, havelis and beautiful murals of Rajasthan.. Each day is designed to maximise creativity with 'one on one' tutoring and specific on site workshops. One cannot help but be intrigued and inspired by the beautiful narrow sandstone streets of Jaislamere, the pinks of Jaipur, the cool and soothing blues of Jodhpur and the holy pilgrimage lake city of Pushkar. Along with a visit to a traditional Dhurri weaver you will also have the opportunity to have a motif carved from a traditional textile woodblock. The warmth and joy of the Indian people, and it's ancient civilisation are a dynamic, not to be forgotten experience.

This artist study trip is specially designed to experience India in a small group of no more than 8 so that you are well cared for.

Our tour guide, Kamlesh Vyas is an experienced tour operator for artists and the culturally inspired, and owns a beautiful textile business in Jaislamere. My experience and love of India, coupled by my professional arts practice and teaching experience, make the perfect combination to facilitate this creative journey.

Booking:

Places are limited to 8 persons and priority will be given on a first come basis. Should you be interested please contact me by asap. You are welcome to remain in contact re: availability of places.

Flights are very cheap at present, so it is worthwhile taking advantage of the special offers. November is a lovely time to visit weather wise and culturally.

Please email me with any enquiries and I will forward you an itinerary detailing locations, activities, costs etc. I would be grateful for you passing this on if you feel or know of anyone who may be interested. Below are the websites for Lakshmi Tours, UK and Kamlesh Vyas, our tour operator/textile artist at Surya Art House, Jaisalmere, Rajasthan India, as well as my own website detailing my professional practice and India inspired artwork.

Warm regards,

Catherine Parker
